Approached by the preschool to build a cubby the class of 2012 launched into the project with enthusiasm and completed the build over 10 weeks. This included transporting of the materials and working under the scrutiny of the preschool students who quickly befriended the Year Tens.
This project has enabled our school to sign off on core competencies in building and construction. On completing Year Ten students receive a statement of attainment that they can then use towards a certification in college.
The Unit focusses on developing technical drawing skills and hand making timber joints in class. Students then create their own furniture project. Students are also given the opportunity to gain a white card and work on a school grounds project.
