This communication is part of the Registered Training Organisations (RTO) 88005 quality assurance process, consistent with National Standards for RTOs 4.1 and 5.4.
With the commencement of the 2017 school year, as part of a rationalisation initiative by the Education Directorate a decrease in the number of College based RTOs was actioned. As a result, Hawker College and Melba Copland Secondary School RTOs have voluntarily deregistered. From January 2017 the facilitating RTO for the Belconnen Network of Schools became Lake Ginninderra College, known as BelWorks.
Qualifications continue to be delivered across the network where schools meet the compliance requirements according to the National Standards for RTOs 2015. There are instances where some current VET teachers require VET qualifications training, review, renewal and/or upgrade in order to meet the national standards. As part of continuous improvement this process is being addressed by the school and 2017 competency entry and certification can occur when relevant teaching staff VET qualifications are in place. There may be instances where certification is not possible.
