The ACT Department of Health advises that all children attending school in the ACT should be immunised against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and HIB (Haemophilus influenza type b). ACT Public Health regulations require schools to have proof of up-to-date immunisation. Inability to provide this may result in your child being excluded from school should an outbreak of an infectious disease occur.
Inclusive Education Programs
Kingsford Smith School caters for the needs of students with a disability by implementing an inclusive model of education. The school has a range of different programs including three Learning Support Programs (LSP) and Targeted Support Programs (TSP) and Inclusion Support Programs (ISP) that cater for students who meet the ACT Student Disability Criteria. Teachers of students enrolled in these programs may have an additional support from a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) and students may access small group settings as part of the program.
Our school is equipped with toilet/shower facilities for students with who require access to this specialised equipment. There are also change rooms adjacent to two classrooms, located in the lower and upper primary buildings. Our school is designed for wheelchair access.

Information Communication Technologies
The school has invested heavily in providing a range of devices across the school. Devices include Chromebooks, Macs, PCs and iPads. Middle and senior school students have access to a Mac Lab and the library seminar room has a 25 Chromeboxes. Students connect to the school network through Wi-Fi and cables. Students in years 7-10 are provided with a Chromebook as part of the ACT Government “Better Schools for our kids – technology abled learning” program All classrooms are equipped with a large, flat screen interactive whiteboard. Teachers support students to develop ICT skills and knowledge by embedding technology into the curriculum so that it becomes a natural and integral part of student learning.
