Careers and Work Experience Program

The Careers and Work Experience Program at Kingsford Smith is offered to students in years 9 and 10 in an individualised manner. Students make appointments as needed and are encouraged to explore the opportunities available to them for their future.

As a part of senior school transition, all students in years 9 and 10 work through the Pathways Planning Document in order to gauge their interests, strengths and weakness for future careers.  They do this during designated class times and have the opportunity to discuss various careers and their future goals. Work Experience is an opportunity for students to explore jobs that they may be interested in pursuing as a career.  Students who participate in work experience attend a workplace for 5 days, either in a week block or 1 day a week over 5 weeks, and have the chance to see what the job requires.
