The Family and Community Liaison Officer (FACLO) at Kingsford Smith School (KSS) and aims to provide support to parents/carers to feel a sense of belonging and inclusion in the school community and to provide an understanding of education processes. Which aims to strengthen and build positive connections between students, families, and the local community.
Sally is the FACLO at KSS and was a Child and Family Practitioner for many years, providing families with case management, parenting support information and education. Sally has a wealth of knowledge can provide children and their families with appropriate interventions depending on the need of the family or student. She collaborates with school staff and community services to ensure families and children feel safe and supported at school. She has a background in community development and has developed community partnerships to enhance student/ family wellbeing, opportunities for parental engagement and student-centred initiatives
Sally’s office is in the admin building and is fulltime. Drop-in anytime between 8:30am- 4:30pm or make an appointment via the front office or email Sally on Sally.duncan@ed.act.edu.au
Fundraising
Activities held during the year raise funds for the KSS P&C which are used to provide supplementary resources for our children. Your attendance at monthly P&C meetings, reading the newsletters and accessing the website will keep you up-to-date with event information.
